Nureva HDL Series and UC Clients
Avoiding audio processing conflicts
The Problem
Certain UC clients now include features which process the incoming audio. However, this duplicates the features built into the HDL series.
Typically, users will experience periodic drop in amplitude of audio levels in an attempt to reduce 'noise'.
Nureva audio products have their own sophisticated built-in noise reduction functions , through intelligent sound targeting and position-based gain control.
The Solution
The fix to this issue is simple. It is very straightforward to turn off the noise control functions within UC clients.
In Microsoft Teams
- Open Settings
- Select 'Devices'
- Ensure HDL is selected as both Speaker and Microphone
- Turn Off option 'Automatically adjust mic sensitivity'
- Under 'Noise Suppression', select 'Off'
In Zoom
- Open Settings
- Select 'Audio'
- Ensure Microphone is set to HDL
- Turn On Option 'Show in-meeting option to enable ‘Original Sound'
- Open 'Advanced' section
- Set 'Show in-meeting option to enable ‘Original Sound’ to 'Off'
- Set 'Echo Cancellation' to 'Auto'
